Episode 73: Tom "Fountainhead" Geldschläger (CHANGELING)

The composer and guitarist discusses eponymous CHANGELING record.

Progressive-metal guitarist Tom "Fountainhead" Geldschläger recently released his eponymous "debut" as CHANGELING.

An album several years in the making, the music is essentially Fountainhead under a new name—and a sonically intense and enveloping progressive-death-metal experience it is too.

Featuring a host of guest musicians and intricate arrangements, the album is out now on Season of Mist.

Tom and I discuss the album, his time growing up in post-Communist East Germany, how he got into fretless-guitar playing and his thoughts on the state of the music business.

Thanks to Will at Season of Mist

Closing track "Abyss"

For all things CHANGELING

I'm running the 2025 Edinburgh Marathon on the 25th of May for the Scottish Refugee Council. I predict pain. If you'd like to support, any contribution would be gratefully received. Click here
